Sewing for the Front Line

There is a large interest in making masks for our heath care workers, which is wonderful! We as sewers can and will play a huge role in helping protect the people on the front lines of our heath care. Please remember to pre-wash and heat dry 100% cotton fabric for the masks.
We have reached out to Springfield Regional and other area hospitals for their preferred mask/mask cover style. Their preferred pattern is linked below as the Mercy Health Pattern.
We have also contacted Governor DeWine, Dr. Acton and their team to help get the mask making effort coordinated so that we can best serve our local hospitals, doctors offices and first responders.
If you have questions, I will try to answer them via email kerri@creativefires.net.
Thank you all for your willingness to help! As soon as we know more, I will share it here, via email and facebook. We are committed to doing our part to serve our healthcare workers!
Please Note: Do not make masks if you are feeling ill. Please comply with the Governor and Dr. Acton's order and stay in your own home - no mask making parties (unless you want to use Facetime or Whatsapp to connect virtually)!
These are mask covers for the N-95 masks designed to conserve the masks while providing the necessary protection for the workers wearing them. Please ensure your printer makes the pattern the appropriate size before making any masks. There was an amendment to place the elastic 3" apart, not 2".
